Malawi envoy courts UK investors
Malawi High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK) Dr Thomas Bisika has called on investors to consider investing in Malawi, saying the country presents many bankable opportunities.
The envoy said this on Wednesday at the end of a two-day 2025 Investing in Africa Summit in London, UK, where Malawi Agricultural and Industrial Investment Corporation (Maiic) presented on the country’s investment opportunities to potential investors. Maiic also hosted the Malawi Investment Summit on the sidelines of the main event.

“Malawi is open to investment. Our government continues to create an enabling environment for both local and international investors to thrive.
“We invite the global business community to be part of Malawi’s growth story through sustainable partnerships that create value and shared prosperity.
“I would also like to thank Maiic for hosting a Malawi Investment Summit to engage potential investors and showcase what Malawi is doing in the area of agricultural investment and share investment opportunities in Malawi,” said Bisika.
On his part, Maiic board chairperson Donbell Mandala thanked the private sector, development partners and potential investors for their presence and participation at the event.
He said: “Thank you for your support and expertise which are instrumental in shaping sustainable solutions that uplift communities and build resilience. We believe that Maiic presents a compelling opportunity to invest in high potential ventures in Malawi with measurable returns—financial, social and developmental.

The Investing in Africa Summit attracts potential investors from across the globe plan to invest in Africa.
This year’s summit run from Tuesday to Wednesday under the theme Beyond Tariffs: Institutional Alignment for Intra-African Trade.
